STORY:
Drinking Cold water after meal = Cancer!
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this “sludge” reacted with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

HOAX OR FACT: Hoax.
ANALYSIS:
The aforementioned story in circulation online since many years through emails and certain websites warns people that drinking Cold Water (or Cold Drink) after eating meal will lead to Cancer. Not to worry, this myth (and misconception) has been around for long time; drinking cold water after eating meals will not lead to Cancer as explained below.
ABOUT THE CLAIM COLD WATER AFTER MEAL LEADS TO CANCER
As an explanation to support the claim in question, it is said that the cold water you drink after eating meals will solidify the oily stuff in it and form a 'sludge' that will slow down the digestion. This sludge allegedly reacts with the (stomach) acid, break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food - lining the intestine, turning into fats and leading to cancer. With this explanatory concerns, instead of cold water, it is suggested that it is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
NOT A FACT
First of all, the Oils in concern that we consume with food are already fats, so saying that the oils with cold water will turn into fats and cause cancer does not make much sense. Moreover, the idea that eating too much fat will increase your risk of cancer does not have enough scientific evidence.
The story doing rounds online in few versions does not come with any credible citations, there are no such scientific studies or reports on it. Like told in the story, drinking cold water after meals does not solidify the ingested fats as such. When you drink cold water (or cold drink), or even hot water, they do not remain cold or hot for long; they reach your body temperature within few minutes. The stomach acids too are efficient enough to break down most food into a thick liquid form before it reaches the small intestine.
